Generally Recognized As Safe

Before a substance is intentionally added to food and sold to consumers, it must be 1) approved by FDA, 2) classified as previously sanctioned, or 3) generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by qualified experts. Failing to meet these requirements can result in the following consequences:

  • Product deemed as adulterated

  • Removal of product from the market

  • Distribution delays

  • Potential monetary loss due to delays in the supply chain

DK Express has many years of experience in guiding food and beverage industries through the FDA process and will evaluate your product to determine its classification under GRAS.
